Oil Breakthrough Indicator

One of the leading causes of accidental or unwanted oily bilge water discharge has been the inability to visually detect the performance of oily water separator or indeed whether it is operating. MYCELX has developed the unique design which allows the operator to visually inspect the quality of water between the first and second chambers of MYCELX IMO SUB5. The design incorporates two 5" MYCELX filters treated with a background pink phosphorescent pigment which highlights even the smallest drop of oil visible to naked eye on the surface of the filter. The unit allows for visual inspection of flow discharge quality from the first chamber assuring that the discharge from the second chamber will be oil-free and allowing for maximum filter usage before replacement.
