Bilge water from ships which is collected dockside for treatment tends to be heavily loaded and emulsified. Many operators experience difficulties trying to achieve acceptable cleanliness levels by utilizing gravity separational devices and conventional adsorbents due to high loading and high degree of emulsification. Gravity separators experience bypass of emulsified constituents and adsorbents are easily fouled and occluded by the high level of oil. MYCELX dock side oily water treatment system is rugged enough to separate large quantities of oil without fouling or developing pressure while being sensitive enough to remove emulsified oils to below 5 ppm.
